Pacific Aluminium TrailersManufacturers of aluminium camper trailers since 2003
In 2003 we decided to down size our 4x4 and 19' caravan for something more manageable and easier to tow, as, in 2004 we were planning another trip to Darwin to visit our grandchildren who had moved there while we were on another trip. We felt maybe a camper trailer would be the way to go. This started our hunt for a suitable camper, and in our hunt a friend sent us to DANNY HOSKINS, where we bought our first Pacific Trailer. On this trip to Darwin it rained at some time most nights and WET canvas is not good on your bed when you have to pack up in the morning.
On our return we talked to Danny about our concerns about the number of times we had wet canvas. By the end of the year Danny had shown Barry some drawings of what he had called his VISION. Hence the Green Machine was born! After many small trips in the green Vision it was time to plan another long journey to see the places we had missed previously. No more wet canvas - we could now go to South Australia in the winter and if it rained, too bad, no more folding wet canvas.
Well! It did rain and rain and become very windy in places like Port Lincoln where their Caravan Parks are open to the elements from the Southern Ocean. On our way home we travelled along the Murray visiting Mildura to Echuca with the weather being kind to us on the odd day here and there. Upon leaving Echuca in the pouring rain we decided to head further north hoping to escape the weather. What a mistake that was by the time we arrived in Griffith and booked into a caravan park and visited only one winery the heavens literally opened.
This was the heaviest rain and strong winds we had struck so far and we decided that this would test the Vision. We decided to eat out for dinner and when we came back to the Park we very quickly opened the door of the Vision, hopped in and closed the door down. Great weather for an early night or a good book.
After raining all night we had nothing wet!!! How wonderful!!!
The more we used the Vision the more we loved it, we had all the comforts and convenience of a Caravan in an oversized box trailer. It was strange at first as I had more storage than I knew what to do with, but when going to SA in the winter you soon realise how much room warm clothing needs.
Now it is April 2008 and the Green Machine has been retired and we will be traveling in Pacific's Vision - Hard Top Camper with a hard floor, and we are off to Cairns and beyond, then out to the middle via Mt. Isa and Alice Springs down to South Australia.
Our Vision has Air Bag Suspension, a fully enclosed Annex plus a Day Awning, a slide-out Kitchen with a 3 Burner Stove and stainless steel sink are just a few of the inclusions in this Vision.
We have the ON road model of the VISION and there are now quite a few OFF road Vision's around and hopefully this trip we may see a couple in our travels.
Happy traveling / camping to all.
